pulsepoint now available in the GREATER WILLIAMSBURG COMMUNITY
PulsePoint Respond enables citizen first responders to provide life-saving assistance to victims of sudden cardiac arrest in their community.
App users who are trained in CPR and willing to assist in case of an emergency can be notified when someone nearby is having a cardiac emergency that may require CPR.
If the cardiac emergency is in a public location, the app will alert users in the vicinity of the need for CPR simultaneous with the dispatch of advanced medical care. The application also directs these potential rescuers to the exact location of the closest AED.
Sudden cardiac arrest (sca)
About 400,000 cardiac arrests occur outside of hospitals in the United States each year. 89% of those cardiac arrest patients die because no one on the scene gave CPR.
