About the Event

The Greater Williamsburg HEARTSafe Alliance is working to improve survival of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest by strengthening the chain of survival in our community. This is done through free CPR & AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) training, citizen engagement with PulsePoint, and through partnerships with businesses and organizations throughout Greater Williamsburg. Our training is a valuable resource to community members who want to be ready to perform CPR and use an AED in the case of an emergency. However, the training does not result in a professional certification required by employers.

The mission of the Greater Williamsburg HEARTSafe Alliance is to SAVE LIVES by improving the survival rate of sudden cardiac arrest in James City County, York County, City of Williamsburg, and City of Poquoson. The Alliance works to exceed standards of engagement through citizen education, hands-only CPR training and awareness of AED access while promoting a healthy community.

HEARTSafe CPR/AED training will not result in professional certification and is not appropriate for those occupationally required to have CPR/AED training.
