The HEARTSafe Alliance of Greater Williamsburg is a collaborative community health initiative.

The mission of the Greater Williamsburg HEARTSafe Alliance is to SAVE LIVES by improving the survival rate of sudden cardiac arrest in James City County, York County, City of Williamsburg, and City of Poquoson. The Alliance works to exceed standards of engagement through citizen education, hands-only CPR training and awareness of AED access while promoting a healthy community.

HEARTSafe CPR/AED training will not result in professional certification and is not appropriate for those occupationally required to have CPR/AED training.

hands-only cpr training

We offer FREE, hands-only CPR and AED training twice a month at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center and at Riverside Doctors' Hospital Williamsburg.

The classes take place on the first and second Wednesday of each month and last approximately 45-60 minutes.

This is not a certification level training but provides you the skills necessary to respond in case of a cardiac arrest emergency.

host a cpr training

Do you want to host a free hands-only CPR training at your church, business, nonprofit, neighborhood community center, rec center, gym, or restaurant?

We will come to you and provide training at no cost. All you have to do is provide at least FIVE willing participants in the class.

Investing the 45-60 minutes to provide this class to your clients, employees, congregation or customers could help save a life!

The HEARTSafe Health Fair took place on October 12th, 2019 on the Dewitt Wallace Museum Lawn. This event launched the PulsePoint mobile applications to the Greater Williamsburg Community and highlighted the importance of hands-only CPR. We had Joel Griffin from Gwyneth's Gift speak about the importance of CPR, AED's and HEARTSafe communities. Live music was provided by Bill Jenkins and the Virginia Mountain Boys and a cooking demo was provided by Chef Travis Brust from the Williamsburg Inn. A huge thanks to all our sponsors, vendors and volunteers that participated in this inaugural event! Next year's date and location coming soon!
